What do your courses offer?

Our mentored courses are delivered online by professionals actively working in the Visual Effects industry. This gives students direct access to top artists who provide them with live one on one reviews, group reviews and training sessions. Each week there are new assignments, new training material and scheduled reviews. Students upload their work directly to their mentors and receive tailored feedback to help push them further.

Week by week the basic principles are turned into production ready skills allowing students to create more advanced effects in their work. Our courses combine this with real world work flows and insight into how the industry works, meaning our students have that extra edge when securing work.

What is format of the course?

Each week our courses deliver new 60 minutes live training sessions. The students are given assignments based on the topics covered and then submit the result to the mentors. The mentors review the work and provide feedback and tips via a live One on One session. Each month the mentors chair a live group review with all the students in the course. The students work is reviewed by the group as a whole so students can benefit from their peers feedback, resembling real production dailies sessions. Week by week a transformation is occurring for each student as they hone their skills and work their way to becoming VFX professionals.

Who teaches the courses?

All our mentors are actively working in the worlds top studios and have proven track records of creating breathtaking effects for blockbuster films. They create the courses, host the training sessions and dedicate their time to reviewing students work. This gives our students an outstanding level of feedback and interaction with their mentors. This methodology has allowed us to create an entirely new class of training tailored to their specialities. We call these our Masterclasses and they deliver advanced, high detail training in specialized areas.

What are your Master classes?

Our Masterclasses are designed to let students unleash their full potential. Mentors create a film inspired effects shot, they break it down into it's elements and design training around this. Students build the shot piece by piece, adding more detail each week until they have a completed shot, ready for their demo reel. They provide the same live one on one and group reviews as our other courses but with a more production level focus. These are intense courses and the feel is even closer to that of a production environment, this allows students to tackle a wide range of simulations and receive critiques in a more authentic way.

What else do students have access to?

We focus on providing meaningful reviews of student work, but we don't believe only our mentors have something worthwhile say, so we have another excellent set of critics, our students. Through our social network all of our students have their own page on our site. This is a place where their work is viewable and they can get feedback from their peers in a professional manner. It also acts as a space to keep their notes, meet other members, share articles, collect links and stay up to date with their friends work.
